Neil has almost 30 years’ experience in financial services providing advice to for individuals, Deputies Trustees and businesses. He has advised clients in a range of ‘life changing’ events for over 20 years such as retirement, redundancy, bereavement and the receipt of large sums of money from either share options, company mergers or business sales.
Neil also specialises in providing advice and assistance to clients and their legal teams, in the area of personal Injury and clinical negligence. This advice includes expert witness reports for court as well as investing, managing and safeguarding clients’ compensation awards following their settlement.
Within the specialist advice provided, Neil has advised on cases where there have been issues with security, life expectancy and taxation. With his vast experience in financial advice, he has been able to use this knowledge and experience to provide a holistic view when advising clients and their legal teams.
Neil also advises legal teams in respect of clients where all future losses were settled via periodical payments, and in contrast where periodical payments have not been possible, he has advised the clients and the court on the most suitable outcome.
Neil’s clients vary from significant claims over £18m to more modest amounts, and it is his firm view, that each client should be treated the same, irrespective of the amount of their award. With his vast experience, he has often been referred to as “the trusted adviser” by his clients.
Neil regularly speaks at national and regional events, in addition to specialist groups such as AvMA, APIL and specific events organised in barristers’ chambers.
