Career 

I’ve worked as a welfare benefits adviser for over 20 years and have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in this field. Prior to my role as a welfare benefits adviser, I also worked in the field of personal injury. 

Expertise 

I provide welfare benefits advice and support to the clients of solicitors and barristers who’ve suffered as a result of personal injury or clinical negligence. 

The cases I work on relate to non-means tested benefits, including Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Attendance Allowance, Carers Allowance and Child Benefit. These also include Statutory Sick Pay, Contribution Based Employment and Support Allowance and advice and support with Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit. 

I offer support and guidance on eligibility, a full benefits health check service and assistance in applying and direction through assessments to personal injury and medical negligence clients. I also manage individuals through the mandatory appeal process and have also represented at First-tier Tribunals. 

I’m able to assist with initial client meetings, providing a holistic service to current and potential personal injury and medical negligence clients.  

Career highlight  

Although I've had many highlights in my career, I’m most proud of the cases where I've secured substantial backdated payments in benefits and successful appeal hearings. It brings me great pleasure in seeing these success stories when a client has received an unjust award of benefit.
